Painting meaning below:
Water of life is a vision God gave me. It was like a picture was flashed before my eyes. I saw the vision continuously for an entire year before painting it. It took two years to complete. I knew it was a Bible I kept seeing dripping water in the vision, so as I painted it, I would listen to the audio Bible. Over the time of listening and painting the Bible, I fell in love with Jesus. He grabbed ahold of my heart apart from religion and into relationship. The painting meaning kept coming more to life to me as I was painting it. The Word of God was filling me like water to a thirsty soul. During this time when I was painting Water of Life I was a very broken person. Going through a big trial in life. The most beautiful pieces I have ever created have come from the most broken seasons I have experienced in life. Like the crushing of a flower that produces the beautiful aroma. Like the butterfly who must first start as the caterpilar and go into the darkness of the cacoon to become the butterfly that will take flight. Like the seed who must go into the depths of darkness and decay until it sprouts miraculous new life. Jesus makes beauty from the ashes of our paint, when we lay it at His feet. When we are in the darkest places of our lives, if we seek Him, Jesus will meet us there and remind us we are not alone. He never leaves us. He is our true source of joy. Joy that can be found in the midst of suffering. Jesus is the Water of Life. And He is a good good Heavenly Father. That is the inspiration of this painting. He laid this vision in my lap and I painted it all for His glory.
Dripping Water
Jesus answered her, All who drink of this water will be thirsty again. But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life.
John 4:13-14 (AMPC)
Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.
John 7:37-39 (AMPC)
The red thin string
The red thin string line in the painting that is sewn into the pages from the beginning to the very last page of the Bible, represents Jesus, Yeshua. The blood of the Lamb, from the beginning of the Bible to the end.
Hands holding the Bible
Before I started painting, I took a referance picture of my Dads hands holding the Bible to try to recreate the vision I kept seeing. And it’s not a coincidence as I was painting and listening to the audio Bible, Holy Spirit taught me of His eternal Fatherly love.
God revealed Himself to me as my Heavenly Father through the process of painting Water of Life. I realized He is not a God far away just taking record of all my wrongs. He is a good Daddy who loves us unconditionally and wants relationship. He does not desire a false religion that I would have to earn. No one can earn His love. It is by His grace and believing in His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, that we are saved. It’s Jesus, Yeshuas’ death and resurrection and believing in Him that is the good news. That is the Gospel. He took my shame as I painted, & while listening to Bible on audio, and replaced my shame and hurt with His love. A safe, joyful, loving Father. He gave purpose to my life.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6 NKJV) John 14:6
He has met me in the most broken places and showed me that the true fullness of joy comes from Him. And my true identity and purpose comes from Him. He saved my life.
Water of Life
“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.”
Revelation 22:17 NLT
